Karma Institute Facilities

The Karma Institute Headquarter property provides the perfect sanctuary setting to leave the rat race behind and to rejuvenate your mind and body.   Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills and within easy driving distance from airports, we offer a unique property for personal growth and transformation.

The Karma Community at Willow Springs is a 3.5 acre artisan community with several Karma Institute artists/staff living on-site.  You’ll find many “hidden treasures” exploring this unique property, such as the hand-build cobb wall or the "pirate's ship."  The on-site yoga and pottery studios can be utilized for personalized learning opportunities and classes.  Check out the Willow Springs photo album for more photos.



Phoenix Cabin at Willow Springs 

The Phoenix is a small unique cabin for rent on the Willow Springs property.  The cabin is self-contained with a bedroom and queen bed, living room with a couch hide-a-bed, kitchen, bathroom, and back deck.  Contact Karma Institute directly to book this cabin or book through airBnb.  







Choose from a variety of scheduled retreats or host a personal retreat with family and friends and let us help you plan and implement your itinerary. 
  Slip away on our many hiking trails, or explore the many outstanding recreational opportunities in the surrounding area, such as boating at Bullards Bar Reservior, spending the afternoon at Malakoff Diggings State Park, soaking at Siera hot Springs, exploring historic Nevada City, wine tasting at local wineries, or rafting on the South Yuba River Scenic area.  By booking a retreat with the Karma Institute at Willow Springs, you are also eligible to schedule personalized yoga, dance, massage, and pottery and art classes.

Willow Springs Yoga Studio

The Willow Springs Yoga/meditation Studio hosts weekly yoga classes on Sunday and Wednesday nights.  Participate in scheduled events, or talk with staff and create your own personalized class for your event.   You don't have to drive anywhere, it is literally right outside your door!



The Karma Community at Willow Springs is located within two hours of the Sacramento airport, and twenty minutes north of Nevada City.

Walk through the herb garden to enjoy a wood-fired sauna - large enough to accomodate 10 people.  



Other unique features and treasures that you will discover at the Willow Springs  include: 

  • A 3200 Square foot residence with 6 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a re-modeled kitchen, wood paneled den, and large conference/dining area
  • Internet and wi-fi throughout the house; cell service area
  • Tent space available in back
  • An artistic hand-built cobb wall
  • A one-acre Community Supported Agriculture organic farm 
  • Medicinal Herb and flower garden, Koi pond, bird feeding station,  mature fruit trees, medicinal hawthorne trees, and grape arbor.
  • A 10-person fire-heated cedar-lined sauna for sweats
  • The "Pirate's ship" outdoor area to gather around the fire pit, star-gaze, or enjoy music.

Honey Circle Farms, a one-acre Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) garden is located at Willow Springs, and provides fresh, locally-produced produce.  Master gardener Ruby is passionate about growing food to feed people, and has developed her expertise over 20+ years.  You'll find many open-pollinated and heirloom varieties of produce in her garden.  During the growing season, guests can order a box of in-season fresh produce delivered to your door.



The 3,000 square foot Willow Springs Lodge will be available in the fall of 2019 after re-model.  The Lodge offers everything you need to provide a get-away for family and friends, or to host a workshop.  The residence is easy to find right along Hwy 49, with a large  900 square foot "living room" with wood stove for everyone to gather.  A full facility kitchen, cozy den, dining/conference room, and upstairs make this an ideal spot for a get-away.  The back-side of the building opens up to the future Koi pond and bird feeding area, and wander beyond the cobb wall you'll find the herb garden, CSA garden, barn, "pirate's ship," and more!



 


This facility is ideal for smaller workshops or family gatherings.
